Share Your Light: The Power of Giving Back

Share Your Light: The Power of Giving Back
Why Giving Back Matters and the Challenges We Face

As the holidays approach, many of us feel the tug of gratitude. We think about the people we love, the moments we treasure, and the blessings—big and small—that make our lives meaningful.

But gratitude doesn’t just live in reflection. It’s something we can express outwardly, transforming it into action through giving back.

Giving back matters because it reminds us of our shared humanity. It helps us connect with others, fosters a sense of purpose, and even boosts our own happiness. But it’s not always easy. We face barriers—time, resources, energy—that can make generosity feel like an uphill climb.

The key is to start small. Volunteer for an hour. Donate gently used items. Send a kind note. Every act, no matter how small, contributes to a ripple effect of kindness.

In Wyoming, you can look into Serve Wyoming for local places that need volunteers. But honestly you can search 'Non-Profit Organizations in my area' and start calling them. I'm almost certain they all need a volunteer. We are always looking for someone to help us move something, clean up our building or yard, hand out flyers, or stuff envelopes. Especially this time of year.

Non-Profits often times have a limited budget, so having trusting, reliable volunteers to help is always appreciated.

This November, let’s explore how we can overcome these barriers and find joy in giving back.
