Stepping Back to Build Something Bigger

This one feels a little strange to write.
After a lot of thought (and let’s be honest, probably longer than I should have taken), I’ve decided to put Pure Impressions Design on hold for now.
As many of you know, a few years ago, I stepped into the role of Executive Director at ART321 here in Casper. What started as “I’ll help grow this a bit” has turned into something much bigger and something pretty important to me.
Right now, we’re in the middle of a major transformation.
We’re renovating our basement to expand the clay studio, adding artist studio rentals, classrooms, offices, and the storage we’ve desperately needed. We’re also installing a wheelchair lift so that every single person can access the entire building.
Because art should be for everyone. Not just some people. Not just the ones who already feel like they belong.
That part hits close to home for me.
I didn’t grow up feeling like I had access to spaces like this. I didn’t think of myself as creative, honestly, not until well into my 30s. And I can’t help but wonder how different things might have been if I’d had a place like ART 321 earlier in my life.
That’s a big part of why I’m choosing this right now.
Building Pure Impressions Design has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done,  right up there with being a mom.
It taught me that I can figure things out, that I can build something from nothing, and that trying (even when you have no idea what you’re doing) is sometimes the most important step.
If you’ve ever supported my business, thank you. Truly.
You’ve been part of something that changed my life.
And I hope, more than anything, that it reminded you that you can do the same.
You can try the thing. You can build something. You can surprise yourself.
This isn’t goodbye forever. It’s just a pause while I pour my energy into something that’s growing in a really meaningful way.
If you’re local, I’d love for you to come visit us at ART321.
Take a class.
Walk through the gallery.
Try something new, even if you’re not sure you’re “creative.”
(You probably are. You just haven’t given yourself permission yet.)
Thanks for being here—for all of it.
