Black Tourmaline - What is it?
A few of my most popular pieces lately have been from our new Metaphysical line.
Black tourmaline seems to be among the most popular, so I wanted to highlight it a bit and give some information about it, for those that may not know how magical it really is.
Tourmaline is a group of different colored stones with a similar structure. The word tourmaline came from a regional term in Sri Lanka. It’s base is on the Sinhalese word ‘turmali’, that referred to yellow Zircon. The use of the word actually happened due to a mistake! A consignment of stone was sent from Sri lank with the label Turmalin.
I guess they liked the name and it just stuck, though it’s changed over the years to Tourmaline.
The tourmaline stones look the same, regardless of colors. The structure and look of natural tourmaline all look similar.
It’s a powerful stone for protection against negative energy of all kinds, as well as a strong grounding stone. The black color not only removes the negative energy, but changes it to positive energy.
It’s one of the most popular in the metaphysical sense. A lot of people think it’s one of the best protection stones you can use!
One of my favorite health benefits of Black Tourmaline is stress relief. Ongoing stress is bad for our body. I know a lot of people talk about this, but I don’t think the majority of us have a clue what that means.
I learned the hard way a little over a year ago when ongoing stress finally caught up with me through adrenal fatigue. It started affecting my thyroid, and hormones.
I wear this dainty little black tourmaline ring daily.
